AHI announces its new European Manufacturing Plant

AHI Roofing is proud to announce it has opened a new, metal roof tile manufacturing plant in Europe. The plant is located in Várpalota, an industrial town in Western Hungary.
Várpalota was chosen because of its proximity to many of our major European markets, excellent infrastructure and the ready availability of a skilled workforce. This state-of-the-art plant was designed by our engineers in New Zealand and is the culmination of over 50 years experience in manufacturing pressed metal tiles.
AHI will produce the popular Gerard® range of roofing tiles at the Hungarian plant. The key raw materials for the product, including Zincalume® steel and natural rock chip, will be sourced from New Zealand.
AHI Roofing developed the world's first pressed metal roof tile in 1957 and is the largest manufacturer of pressed metal roof tiles in the world. It continues to lead the industry in pressed metal roof tile technology, with four manufacturing plants around the world: New Zealand, United States (California), Malaysia and now Hungary. In addition, a manufacturing plant in Belgium operates under licence to AHI, utilising our original technology and selling the tiles under the Decra® trademark.
